In addition to our Induction R&D Laboratory, our fully equipped Metallurgical Laboratory integrates a complete package of induction engineering services for our customers.

Working with the Midea Group, Induction Tooling, Inc. is capable of professional metallurgical work that meets or exceeds our customers' expections.

Metallurgical Laboratory Capabilities:

- SECTIONING: Special sectioning capabilities include large and small abrasive wet cut-off saws, a wet carbide saw, wire EDM and various CNC machines. Specimens may be taken from samples weighing up to 500 pounds.

- MOUNT PREPARATION: Section, mount, polish and etch metallurgical specimens prepared 1-1/4 inch Bakelite.

- PHOTO MICROGRAPHIC CAPABILITY: 5 Mpixel digital for video and still images with measuring and internet capabilty.

- HARDNESS TESTING: Macro HRC A, B and C scales and Micro testing utilizing a fully automated Vickers hardness unit for case depth analysis to ASTM E-384. Our Advanced Statistical Analysis Program provides XBar-R charting, chronological test result history with date and time stamp, histogram, average, standard deviation and Cpk for all test data.

- GRAIN SIZE ANALYSIS: Grain size measurements are made to ASTM E112 and E1382 standards. Our specially engineered software package provides an ASTM grain size value and a micron value with automated test result reporting.

- METALLURGICAL ANALYSIS: Analysis is performed by a Professional Metallurgical Engineer with over 20 years heat treat development experience.
